Uganda eliminates maternal and neonatal tetanus

Headway continues to be made in the effort to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the world. It was announced that Uganda has been validated as having reached MNT elimination.

This exciting news means that 20 countries have eliminated MNT over the past 11 years.

Before the year 2000, maternal and neonatal tetanus was a threat in 58 countries. Now, due to the diligence of UNICEF and its partners, amazing progress is being made.
