Alumni make KCDC connections

In 2014, the Key Club International Convention will be held in Anaheim, California. When was the last time the Key Club convention was held there?*

That’s just one of the trivia questions asked on July 5, when alumni gathered at Mellow Mushroom in Washington, D.C. But the evening was more than “trivial.” A diverse group of Key Club and Circle K alumni came together for the event, which allowed former members of the programs to remember good times and talk about the future.

The alumni event drew a diverse crowd. In addition to those who have stayed in the Kiwanis family—such as area members from the D.C. Young Professionals, Downtown D.C., and Tysons Corner/McLean Kiwanis clubs—many attendees reconnected for the first time since graduation. That’s what made the event a success: everyone’s interest in being engaged with the programs, and with fellow alumni.

We hope to see you next year in Anaheim!

If you attended this year, we’d love to hear from you. You’re welcome to share your photos of the event—send them to smckeen@kiwanis.org. And if you’re a D.C. local and want to get connected with a Kiwanis club in the area, connect with Brian Egger at brian.j.egger@gmail.com or Amanda Guelzow at DCYP.President@gmail.com.

*By the way, the answer to the question above is 2002.
