Alumni shares his story

Alumnus Michael Tang shares some thoughts on the value of the Key Club experience

I am an alumnus of the James Bowie High School Key Club in Arlington, Texas. As a Key Club member I was encouraged to promote myself, and the club, to the community. We wanted to make sure the community was aware of our presence and knew that we wanted to help as much as possible.

This outreach with the community eventually led to me receiving an award for the service performed during my junior and senior years. It was an honor to receive the award and represent my high school for having the most service hours two years in a row. But it wasn't all about the service hours. I participated because it allowed me to spend more time with my friends, and it taught us how to work together efficiently and effectively.

Above all, I was happy to have a positive impact on my community. Key Club gave me an opportunity to show that I care and contribute to making the world a better place.

Key Club alumni, have you shared your story with us yet? Tell us your favorite memory, or about the kind of impact Key Club had on you. Big or small, we want them all!
