UNICEF supports Uganda’s Ministry of Health during the twice-yearly “Child Health Days” to ensure that all children in Uganda get supplementary immunization against deadly childhood diseases, including polio, measles and DPT. UNICEF also works with the government to provide Vitamin A and deworming tablets for children aged 5–14 years. During “Child Health Days,” women of child-bearing age receive tetanus toxoid vaccines as well.
