Suggested Eliminate Week announcement wording

In many countries, babies sometimes get infected with tetanus when they’re born. That’s because their families don’t have the vaccines or health care and education that prevent the disease. Babies that become sick with this illness do not live long.

So, Kiwanis and UNICEF have teamed up for The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus.

Here is what MNT stands for:

M: Maternal: Relating to a woman who has or could have a baby.

N: Neonatal: Relating to a newborn baby.

T: Tetanus: A disease caused by bacteria that usually enter the body through a cut or wound.

US$1.80 provides a series of three vaccinations that protect a woman and her future babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus.

Our K-Kids club is raising money to help vaccinate mothers and protect moms and babies.
