How is the convention registration fee set?
The convention registration fee is set by the Kiwanis International Board of Trustees every year at the April Board meeting. It is based on estimated attendance and is meant to cover convention costs.

The cut-off date is used as an incentive for people to sign up early so convention planners can have a better handle on attendance.

An amendment was brought forth at the 2010 convention in Las Vegas to go to a set convention fee assessed to each club, but that amendment was defeated. This would have been akin to the financial model used in some districts for their district conventions, where a fee is paid by each club in the district on a yearly basis, whether delegates from the club attend their district convention or not.
