The Eliminate Project

Every nine minutes, an infant dies from neonatal tetanus. Most of these tragedies occur in countries that haven't yet eliminated maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT). With The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus, Kiwanis International has joined forces with UNICEF to change the world for millions of mothers and babies.

The Eliminate Project's fundraising campaign will raise US$110 million by 2015—eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth and protecting some of the world's most vulnerable people.

Individual giving

Kiwanis International Foundation grants come full circle while helping children across the U.S. and around the world. Since our inception in 1939, we've invested over US$85 million in Kiwanis-family service to improve children's lives. Learn more about our grants.

In 2009-2010 alone, we granted $478,897 to Kiwanis-family organizations for projects and programs to benefit needy children in local communities. Our grants that year enabled clubs and districts to serve more than 95,000 children in 13 countries, including 9 U.S. states. And we reached thousands of young people through our grants for Kiwanis youth programs that build leadership skills and teach the value of service.

Club giving

Many Kiwanis clubs support their Kiwanis International Foundation each year, knowing that their gifts come full circle in the form of service project grants and district matching scholarship funds.

• Make your annual club gift online—it's easy and secure. While gifts of any amount are gratefully accepted, we ask clubs to consider making a gift of US$5 per member. Your club will earn banner patches while helping your district to qualify for matching scholarship funds.
• Make your Skip-A-Meal donation online and join in this time-honored Kiwanis tradition. Your symbolic gift of the cost equivalent of one meal per member (or whatever you can afford) will help ensure that children will get the food, medicine, dental care and education that they need.

Recognition programs

Choose any of our prestigious recognition opportunities to honor a special person for their dedication to improving children's lives. Your gift will help advance Kiwanis' mission to serve the children of the world while providing the person of your choice (or even yourself) with unique keepsakes to cherish. Please allow 3 weeks for recognition materials to be prepared and mailed.

• Make a gift that keeps giving—your online Walter Zeller Fellowship gift or pledge of US$1,250 will save 694 mothers and their babies from MNT.
• Distinctive people deserve distinctive recognition—give for a George F. Hixson Fellowship, Hixson Diamond or Tablet of Honor and let them know how much they mean to you.
• Honor an outgoing Kiwanis club officer, exemplary Kiwanian or community leader with your US$250 Kiwanis Leadership Society gift—our most affordable recognition opportunity.
